Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of the website. Reading its content, visiting a page, or submitting a search signifies acceptance of every term below. Do not continue using the site if you disagree with them.

NO FCRA USE. This privately owned website has no connection to a local, Connecticut, or federal government body. The site and its advertising partners do not offer tools for employment screening, credit decisions, tenant evaluation, insurance underwriting, or another purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). It is a Stratford Town, Connecticut criminal-record reference resource, not a private investigation business or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is an independently operated private reference site. It does not maintain government records, obtain official files, perform official background checks, or submit paperwork for visitors.

Its purpose is to identify the Stratford and Connecticut custodians that hold relevant material, including Stratford Police Records, Connecticut Superior Court, DESPP/SPBI and CCHRS, CT DOC, and the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry, while also offering access to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means against these pages
  • Violate a federal, state, or local law
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass a person with information found here
  • Use site content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions
  • Interfere with performance or prevent others from accessing the site
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or restricted area

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information obtained here or through a linked service to intimidate, stalk, threaten, harass, or discriminate against another person. Such conduct may also violate criminal law. Connecticut Sex Offender Registry information is published for community safety, not vigilantism, employment exclusion, or housing discrimination, and misuse against a registrant may carry legal penalties.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not produce consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Our advertising partners and this site do not provide services designed to assess applicants, rental requests, creditworthiness, or insurance rates. Information from these pages or a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Assess eligibility for credit or establish an insurance premium
  • Make a hiring or termination decision
  • Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
  • Determine qualification for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated activity

Anyone needing a check for a regulated purpose must use the authorized DESPP/SPBI channel when appropriate or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General information about Stratford Town records cannot determine how a conviction, charge, warrant, erasure rule, or Clean Slate provision affects an individual matter. Consult a Connecticut-licensed attorney for legal guidance.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are offered "as is." We make no guarantee that:

  • A partner search result will be complete or correct
  • The pages contain no error, bug, or security weakness
  • Information is always complete, accurate, and current
  • The website will remain continuously available

Criminal records can change after a charge is filed, dismissed, erased, or otherwise restricted. Updates may be missed despite reasonable efforts. No content here is an official statement by Stratford Police, a court, DESPP/SPBI, or another public agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to police, court, Connecticut agency, legal-aid, and outside search pages that we do not operate. We are not responsible for an external service's availability, charges, privacy practices, or content. Review its terms before proceeding.

8. Intellectual Property

Stratford Town Criminal History or its content partners own the website's text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required to reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative content from those materials.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from site use, including reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related costs and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Connecticut law governs these terms. A dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in Connecticut.

12. Changes to These Terms

These conditions may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be suspended or terminated at any time, without notice and for any reason.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be modified only to the extent needed for enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions concerning these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
